Punctuation Celebration!

It's a Punctuation Celebration with Primary Students! The First, Second and Third Graders all took part in a celebration of the three end marks this afternoon. By the end of the day, students had exclaimed sentences, stopped at the end of statements and added "huh" to the end of questions.

Mrs. Treber presented the exclamation mark in fabulous style!

Students practiced using LOTS of feelings when reading sentences the end in an exclamation mark with Mrs. Treber.

Mrs. Z introduced the importance of the sentence-stopper period.

While with Mrs. Z, students walked along a story and STOPPED at each period.
They learned how periods work as sentence stoppers!

Did Miss Boocher explain how to use a question mark? Yes, she did!
Students practiced putting a "huh" into your voice when reading a question. Do you think they could do it? You bet they could!

We even practiced changing statements into questions! Miss Boocher had punctuation on her mind all day.

Thank you Mrs. Z, Mrs. Treber and Miss Boocher!
Our Punctuation Celebration was a wonderful success!
