Meet our new reading buddies. They are made from "special reading rocks" which turn to sand if they aren't read to frequently. Each student was given a plain reading rock. Students decorated them with eyes, hair and body paint. Much like with our reading buddy plants, I was overwhelmed with the motivation the special reading rocks gave the class. Our classroom was a perfectly noisy mess of students reading to rocks.
